Monthly Minutes for August 2010
Meeting Date: August 19, 2010 Start Time: 8:14 pm End Time: 9:10 pm Minutes from last meeting accepted by: 1st Eddie 2nd Scott Treasurer’s Report: Total funds amount to $18,272.67 and is comprised of $178 in 1st lunker fund, $0.00 in 2nd lunker fund, $16,045.12 in club treasury and $2,049.55 in handicapped fund. Federation Report: No federation report Old Business: Follow up to Wounded Warriors event: Rob talked with Joel and the soldiers loved the Bergen sponsored Wounded Warriors event on Lillinoah so much that they want Bergen to conduct another event in September, 2011. The venue is planned for Lake Zoar. We’re expecting a more-manageable 15 to 20 soldiers for the ’11 event. Rob also advised that pictures of our event were sent to the national chapter and a thank you letter from the Wounded Warriors is forthcoming. Rob also plans to write up a description of our event for submittal to the NJ Bass Federation. New Business: Eddie informed the club that Terry Baksay, Touring Pro and friend to a number of us has contracted cancer and is currently going through chemotherapy. He asked that the club send a card/flowers to Terry and that he would try to get his address. Bob Murphy advised the club that the club fund is in great shape and that we may purchase logo’d shirts for every member. Stay tuned as Bob is gathering the information. We discussed the possibility that registered observers may be able to buy shirts at ½ price. The president also let the club know that 9 Bergen Bassmasters would be travelling to Plattsburgh to participate in the 2nd Annual USO Tournament. Mark Scocco provided the members with then name/number of the Turf & Spa motel (518-584-2550) in Saratoga for those who wish to stay up there the night before the September 11 tournament. Lastly, the tournament committee informed us that Jayson would address the 2011 Trail at the next meeting. Tournament Committee: Drawing held for the Saratoga tournament and checks handed out for Mahopac as well as those who had not received their Hudson River tournament winnings.
