"Take The Path Less Travelled" -Lake Hopatcong

With a late season date after a busy summer at the mighty Lake Hopatcong, the advice that was being passed around was to "Take the path less travelled".  However, as it usually goes with fisherman, not much past that was disclosed and was by and large open to interpretation.  Judging by the light bags brought to the scales not many figured out this riddle.  All in all though, conditions were much more pleasant than last year here...

In First Place, weighing in 5 largemouth for a total of 11lbs, 1oz was Mike Rinaldi.  Mike has had a few nice finishes this year and obviously found the path.  Nice work Mike!

In Second Place,  and continuing to make a push for Angler of the Year was Andy Karcich.  Coming off a 1st place finish at the Bergen Classic at Cross Lake, Andy weighed 5 largies for a total of 10lbs, 14oz.  Stay hot Andy!

Also weighing in 5 largmouth for a total of 10lbs, 4oz and placing Third was Battleship Captain Wayne Wilcken.  He's currently looking to crack the top 10 in Angler of the Year Standings.  Keep it going Wayne!

Coming in Fourth Place, and making his first Top 5 this year was Rookie Sean Combs.  Bergen's website specialist weighed in a mixed bag limit of 4 largies and 1 smallie for a total of 8lbs, 2oz.  Congrats and way to go Sean!

Our 5th Place finisher was "The Dockman" Steve Rusert.  Steve broke the top 5 with a limit sack of largemouth totaling 5lbs, 14oz.  Quoted as saying he "Found the path less travelled, but had trouble staying on it due to distractions" during the day.  Nice going Steve!

Lunker Honors went to Andy Karcich with a stout 5lb 1oz largemouth.  Congrats & great day Andy!

The Bergen Club will be wrapping up the season with it's final points tournament on the Hudson River, launching out of Catskill, NY.  One never knows what to expect as this fishery can be quite unpredictable.  Hopes are for some "Hefty Bags" though.

 See you there!
