Directions to local area ramps

 

All Connecticut Lakes, follow these beginning directions to Route 684 North.


From Montvale rest area, head North on the GSP into NY until the end. Follow signs for 87 east/Tappan Zee Bridge.
Stay on 87 east and go over the Tappan Zee Bridge.
After paying the toll, go about 1/2 mile and take exit for 87 east.
Proceed on 87 East until exit for 684 north.
 

All directions begin with a departure point of the Montvale Rest Area on the Garden State Parkway.

Highland Lake CT

Follow above directions to Route 684 North.
Take 684 North to Route 84 east.
Take I-84 east to Waterbury
In Waterbury, pick up RT 8 north (a left hand exit)
Take RT 8 north all the way to its end in Winsted.
At the end of the highway, take a right onto RT 44 west
Go to your fifth traffic light and take a left onto RT 263
Half way up the hill, RT 263 will bear to the right, take that right, stay on RT 263
Take your first left, Woodland Ave, and go to the end.
Take a right and the boat launch will be on your left within 100 feet or so.
 

From the intersection of RT 44 & RT 263, there will be brown State boat launch signs guiding you to the launch.
 

Zoar

Follow above directions to Route 684 North.
Take 684 North to Route 84 east.
Take 84 East to exit 14, go south on Lakeside Road, turn right on Lee Farm Drive to Scout Road. The launch is at the end of Scout Road. The speed limit is 45 MPH.

Twin Lakes - O'Hara's Launch


Follow above directions to Route 684 North.
Stay on 684 North past exit for Route 84. This will become Route 22 North.
Follow Route 22 North for about 45 minutes. Route 44 will merge into route 22. Stay straight on 22.
After a sharp bend in the road and a t a traffic light, Route 44 east splits off. Make a right here onto 44 east.
Proceed on route 44 east a few miles. A road will merge in from the left and there will be a boat ramp sign.
Make a left here and follow signs for the boat ramp, about 3/4 mile.
Lake will be on your left side and O'Hara's Marina will appear directly in front of you.
 

Lake Lillinonah - Steel Bridge State Launch


Follow above directions to Route 684 North.
Take 684 North to Route 84 east.
Take Route 84 east to exit 7 (route 7). This will be a left hand exit
Stay on Route 7 a few mile until the end. Make a right on to route 202 north.
Proceed about 1/2 mile on 202 north to intersection with a traffic light and a Texaco station. Make a right.
Go about 2 miles next traffic light. This is a major intersection with a large church on your right. Make a left.
Continue straight about 1.5 miles. You'll go right over the lake over a Steel Bridge.
Launch ramp is immediately on the right after the bridge.
 

Candlewood Lake - Squantz Pond Launch


Follow above directions to Route 684 North.
Take 684 North to Route 84 east.
Take Route 84 east to exit 5.
Off exit, proceed through stop sign and continue straight through traffic light at the bottom of the hill.
Continue straight. At traffic light by a major shopping center, continue straight(by bearing left).
Stay on this road until you get to a Mobile Gas station on your RIGHT hand side and Make a right at that traffic light.
NOTE: You will pass a Mobile station on your left, continue straight.
Continue staright on this road as it bends around. You will see the leke on your right.
Squantz Cove launch ramp will be on your right directly across from a fire station.
 

Lake Hopatcong - Lee's Park


Take GSP south to route 80 west.
Take route 80 west to exit 30, Howard Boulevard.
At bottom of the ramp, make a right onto Howard Blvd.
Proceed straight up the hill for about 2.5 miles. Lee's Park will be on your left hand side.
 

Lake Mahopac - McDonald's Marina


Follow above directions to Route 684 North.
Take exit 8 off of Route 684, Hardscrabble Road.
At top of the ramp, make a left over highway.
Stay straight and follow signs to Lake Mahopac. You will bear left twice at forks with these signs.
You will cross over a reservoir, stay straight until road ends at route 6. Make a left onto route 6 south.
Go about 1/4 mile to next traffic light and make a right at the Mahopac library, immediately after a CVS pharmacy.
Road forks 100 feet ahead, bear left. McDonald's Marina is on the right.
 

Connecticut River - Salmon River State Launch


Go over Tappan Zee Bridge to Route 95 North
Take Route 95 North to exit 65 (95 mi)
From exit 65, take Route 153 North to rt 9 North (5 mi)
Take Route 9 North to Route 82 North (6 mi)
Take Route 82 North and proceed over Bridge (3 mi)
After Bridge bear left at Route 149
Salmon River Launch Ramp is approximately one mile on left
 

Saratoga Lake, NY - State Launch


Take Route 87, NY Thruway North to Exit 24, Northway Take Northway towards Lake George/Lake Champlain to exit 14. Off exit, make a left onto Route 9P (Union Ave). Take 9P about 1 mile to the lake. Cross over the lake and make first left into launch ramp.

Hudson River - Ulster Landing Launch


Take 87 North to Exit - 19, go all the way around the circle after the exit to Route 587, at the end of 587, 1.2 miles take 32 North for about 4 miles to Ulster Landing Road, you will see Nick Roberts Marine at the corner where you make the right onto Ulster Landing Road. The launch is 1 mile down the road, make a right at the silver fence ( Charles Ryder Park )

Great Sacandaga Lake

NYS Thruway (I-90) north to exit 27. Take route 30 north approximately 26 miles to the Northampton Campground and launch site. You will see two sign for the Northampton Campground. Make a right at any of the signs. For you campers, you can reserve a Northampton campground space ($17 per night) by calling 1-800-456-2267.
The Valley View Motel is located right off exit 27.

Directions to Whaley Lake
 

1: From Montvale rest area, head North on the GSP into NY until the end.
2: Merge onto NEW YORK STATE TRWY S / I-87 S via EXIT 9E toward WHITE PLAINS (Portions toll). 9.5 miles
3: Take EXIT 8A toward SAW MILL PKWY NORTH / RT-119 / ELMSFORD. 0.8 miles
4: Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp. 0.2 miles
5: Merge onto SAW MILL PKWY N / SAW MILL RIVER PKWY N. 18.3 miles
6: Merge onto I-684 N toward BREWSTER. 10.6 miles
7: Merge onto I-84 W via EXIT 9W toward NEWBURGH. 9.5 miles
8: Take the LUDINGTONVILLE RD exit- EXIT 17. 0.2 miles
9: Turn RIGHT onto LUDINGTONVILLE RD / CR-40. <0.1 miles
10: Turn LEFT onto DREW RD. 0.4 miles
11: DREW RD becomes JANSEN RD. 0.6 miles
12: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CR-30 / HOLMES RD. 0.2 miles
13: Turn LEFT onto SOUTH RD. 1.8 miles
14: Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto NY-292. 0.7 miles
15: End at Marina

Directions to Susquehanna Flats

Take 95 South to exit 100 in Maryland. Take route 272 south for 3 miles, make a right on Iroquois Drive, proceed to Anchor Marina (410-287-6000).

Directions to Copake Lake

From 684 North Take Route 22 North at sign for "The Hub" Restaurant,
fork to the left onto 7A. AT the fork bear left (7A X Clock) Go to route 7, make a right after the lake make a left stright to dancers marine.

 Mohawk River Crescent Pool launch site:


Take exit 8 on the Northway (87)
Take Rte 92 east for about 2 miles
Make a left on Rte 9 and a quick right onto Rte 99 east (Church Hill Road)
Stay on 99 for less than ½ mile and make a right on Middletown Road
Go less than 1000 feet and bear RIGHT at Fonda Road
Stay on Fonda Road for around two miles and make a SHARP right on Flight Lock Road
Follow Flight Lock Road to the end – Launch is on right

Cross Lake (Riverforest Park Launch)

Continue onto US-6 W
Continue onto NY-17 W
Merge onto I-81N
Slight right to stay on I-81 N (signs for I-88/​Syracuse/​Albany)
Take the exit onto I-690 W toward Fairgrounds/​Baldwinsville
Take exit 1 to merge onto I-90 W
Take exit 40 for NY-34 toward Weedsport/​Auburn
Turn left onto NY-34 N
Turn left onto Stickle Rd
Take the 1st left onto Riverforest Rd
